About Our Products
We believe what you bring into your home matters—not just spiritually, but physically. That is why every Diakonia & Co. product is made with clean, non-toxic ingredients and held to the highest standards of safety and integrity. Our products are completely free from parabens, phthalates, mutagens, and carcinogens—ingredients that are often hidden in conventional products and have been linked to hormone disruption, toxicity, and long-term health concerns. We believe you should never have to choose between a beautiful fragrance and your well-being. Creating products that are safe for your body, your home, and your family is not an extra step for us—it is a responsibility.
Our candles are crafted using 100% non-GMO, USA-grown soy wax—providing a clean, slow, and even burn you can feel confident about. We intentionally choose high-quality, domestically sourced materials not only to ensure product purity, but to support responsible agriculture and reduce environmental impact.
My passion for creating intentional, clean-burning products is deeply rooted in both my education and calling—I earned my degree in Business Leadership, where my senior-year research focused on how soy wax candles illuminate agricultural growth and fuel the U.S. economy, a project I dedicated countless hours to and was honored to receive a perfect score on.
In addition to the broader environmental and economic benefits, the intentional selection of materials in candle production plays a critical role in both consumer health and product integrity. Choosing soy wax and clean, non-toxic ingredients is not only a sustainable decision, but a protective one. As research has shown, paraffin-based candles can release harmful chemicals such as benzene and toluene, contributing to indoor air pollution and potential long-term health risks. In contrast, soy wax—particularly when sourced from non-GMO, U.S.-grown soybeans—offers a renewable, biodegradable alternative that supports both environmental stewardship and cleaner indoor air quality.
Equally important is the formulation of fragrance and additional materials used within candles. Many conventional products contain additives such as phthalates and parabens, which have been linked to hormone disruption and other adverse health effects. By prioritizing clean materials that are free from mutagens, carcinogens, and other toxic compounds, candle manufacturers can significantly reduce the chemical burden placed on consumers within their own homes. This shift reflects a growing consumer awareness that indoor environments should be as safe and non-toxic as possible.
The move toward clean-burning candles made with sustainable and transparent ingredients represents a broader transformation within the industry—one that prioritizes both human well-being and environmental responsibility. As consumers become more educated on the impact of everyday products, the demand for non-toxic, responsibly sourced candles will likely continue to rise, further reinforcing the importance of material integrity in candle production.
We are also deeply committed to stewardship—honoring what God has entrusted to us. From using sustainable materials to thoughtful, small-batch production, every decision is made with care for both people and creation. We believe sustainability is an act of worship, reflecting a heart that values and protects what the Lord has made.
